Chapter 6. Sharing Pages Documents

After you create a Pages document and carefully lay out, tweak, and polish it to perfection, your work is complete—if you want to view it only onscreen, that is. It's likely, however, that you'll often want to print a hard copy, or share it with others via CD, email, fax, or the Web. This chapter explores the next step in the life of a Pages document: delivering it from your computer into the hands and in front of the eyeballs of your intended audience. You'll also learn how to import files into Pages from other programs like Microsoft Word and AppleWorks.

Printing Your Documents

Although there was a time when people thought computers would lead to the paperless office, in fact just the opposite has occurred—and paper consumption keeps growing year after year. Printing will undoubtedly be one of your preferred methods for liberating your Pages documents from your Mac. Printing Pages documents is just like printing anything else on your computer—so if you have a handle on how printing works in other programs, feel free to skip this section.

Page Setup

Before you print your document, be sure to save it one last time to ensure that you have the latest version locked away on your hard drive. Setting the Page Setup options should really be a part of the document setup you did at the beginning of the document (see Chapter 2 for details on how to format your document).
