Assembling the Application Components: WebAuction

This section covers how to assemble your application components, including Web applications and EJB jars, into an enterprise archive, or .ear file. Enterprise archives are the J2EE standard for packaging application components and deployment information into a single package, which can then be deployed on WebLogic Server or any other application server supporting J2EE.

About Enterprise Archives

Enterprise archives make it easier to archive, package, and distribute your application code because everything is in a single file. Enterprise archive filenames have the extension .ear. An enterprise archive includes everything required to deploy the application code on an application server.
