There are times that you'll wonder why you're doing what you're doing, times when you wonder if you should just give it all up and take a safer route.
Musicians never forget the first time they hear their own song on the radio—or, in my case, the first time they almost hear their song on the radio.
We'd recorded our first album, the album we'd waited our entire lives to make, and we were in Jacksonville at the local radio station, where the DJ was throwing us a little hometown love. He'd invited us into the studio and told us to bring along a copy of our record. At long last, we were going to be on the radio! We told everyone we knew, and everyone we could get in contact with was listening that day.
Our first mistake ...
