Getting started

Like the project in Chapter 18, Managing Processes in Java, this project is fairly simple, conceptually. The end goal is a command-line utility to perform various date and time calculations. However, while we're at it, it would be very nice if the actual date/time work were to be put in a reusable library, so that's what we'll do. This leaves us with two projects, which we'll set up, like last time, as a multi-module Maven project.

The parent POM will look something like this:
