The subject of this book is writing graphical user interface software using the Java Foundation Classes (JFC). It is organized to teach you how to write a GUI program in Java, assuming you have never done so. Therefore, it starts from the beginning.
This book attempts to present concepts and show how to apply them. Therefore, each chapter first introduces one or more related concepts that pertain to a particular aspect of Java GUI programming. The conceptual discussion includes how the Java toolkit manifests support for the concept. This is followed by examples that show how the concept is applied.
