Introducing Java Plug-Ins
When Java first came on the scene five years ago, it was primarily used for developing client-side applets. Applets allow you to develop animations and user interfaces using Java's standard, cross-platform package libraries. The first wave of Java brought along with it clever and glossy applets such as Nervous Text and image animation views that added sparkle to the Web landscape.
