18. Animation

Animation is one of the most important and exciting features of JavaFX. Although it is possible to create an animation using the Java2D application programming interfaces (APIs) in the Java platform, it is an order of magnitude simpler to do so with JavaFX. The Oxford English Dictionary defines animation as “the technique of filming a sequence of drawings or positions of models to create an illusion of movement.” Movement is only one facet of animation in JavaFX.
