I was a teenager when I published my first article about the programming techniques used in a videogame I wrote. “Killer Satellites” was an extravaganza of squared, flashy monochromatic sprites for the MSX home computer, as they called those little 8-bit toys running at 3.57MHz with 64KB RAM. Unbelievably, it was a success, and I was called in to supply anything I could imagine, in any language, provided that it was reproducible in a printed listing.
