SOAP and Enterprise Java Beans

The combination of SOAP with Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) is particularly potent. EJBs make it easy to create business objects that perform database operations for you. You no longer spend your time creating SQL requests, but instead focus on implementing your business logic. Although you can use CORBA to access EJBs from languages other than Java, it's pretty cumbersome. Putting a SOAP front-end on your EJB applications enables any program that can create a SOAP request to access your EJBs.
