Customizing the Behavior of JAWS
JAWS comes pre-configured to use the bundled HypersonicSQL embedded JDBC database and automatic table creation per CMP entity bean. This allows you to experiment with CMP entity beans with no JBoss-specific configuration. However, this is only generally appropriate for relatively simple beans and testing. Fortunately a good deal of JAWS' behavior is customizable using two XML configuration files: standardjaws.xml and jaws.xml. Both files conform to the DTD defined by the jaws_2_4.dtd, which is represented graphically in Figure 5.2. Listing 5.5 shows a portion of the standardjaws.xml descriptor to give you a feel for the nature of the elements. Only the Hypersonic SQL type-mapping is shown in Listing 5.5.
