Our journey to the answer to the question posed in the title is nearing an end. As I have played around with the ideas in these three chapters, I’ve begun to feel like I’m experiencing Zeno’s paradox—I keep finding subproblems and digressions, each one getting us another halfway to the solution. I’m going to restrain myself a bit this time, though, and power through to a final answer.
