Several years ago, Jim Kajiya lent me a copy of a book called Diagram Techniques in Group Theory (G. E. Stedman, Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, England, 1990). This book described a graphical representation of the algebra used to solve various problems in mathematical physics. I was only able to understand the first chapter, but even that was enough to excite me tremendously about adapting the technique to the algebra of homogeneous geometry that we are familiar with in computer graphics.
