In the last chapter, we presented an overview of the commonly used graphs in JMP. This works well as a recipe book when you know what you want your graph to look like. However, at other times, and particularly when you are exploring your data for the first time, it makes sense to take a different approach for several important reasons. First and foremost, you probably don't know what your data is going to tell you. Second, you can learn a great deal about your data when you explore it both visually and numerically.
