Chapter 21. International Clothing Sizes
There have been national systems for clothing sizes for some time. This was fine when the garment industry was local to a given country and foreign-made goods were expensive luxuries (Italian shoes, French dresses, and so forth). Here is an example from http://www.asknumbers.com/SizeConversion.aspx of one woman’s dress size in five different national systems.
