15. The System Template: Adapting and Modifying Output
The system template is responsible for, among other things, the layout of Joomla!’s system messages, error notices, and offline notifications. Whenever the assigned template does not specify a style for messages, the system template ensures that they look good and the application remains usable. In other words, if you have not designed these views in your template, they will be automatically formatted in accordance with the system template. You will find the system template in its own folder: your_installation/templates/system. The system template is structured in exactly the same way as the other templates.
