After the router is installed and operational and the software is configured, several basic setup procedures should be performed. These include configuring user accounts so that various users can access the router, configuring login classes to allow different levels of access, configuring user authentication to validate users, and configuring the time zone and network time protocols.
Users can access the router without accounts if RADIUS or TACACS+ servers are configured, as described in “Configuring User Authentication” on page 131.
