Armitage initialization and startup

We shall now initialize and start up Armitage:

  1. Begin by opening a terminal window by clicking on the terminal icon on the left. 
  2. Metasploit uses a database to store information about targets, exploits, and other information. We need to begin by starting the database daemon. From the Command Prompt, type the following:
service postgresql start
  1. Next, we will initialize the database (this only needs to be done once when first starting it):
 msfdb init
If you ever need to reinitialize the database to start over, you can use the msfdb reinit command. Be warned that all the existing data will be lost.
