Situational awareness: Reading the mood andfeeling of a group, the relationships involved,and the issues present.
Coaching and developing greater situational awareness provides the potential to understand the dynamics involved around people, teams, organisations and performance. Being able to make sense of how things really are empowers people to make choices and create strategies that can influence situations to a positive conclusion. When people clearly have low situational awareness they can become unintentionally disruptive or unhelpful, which means they are often left outside or marginalised, or judged as being inappropriate or obsolete.
