Scenario planning
The big picture
Scenario planning asks questions about the future. It is a means of assessing strategy against a number of structurally quite different, but equally plausible, future models of the world. Scenarios provide a context in which managers can make decisions. By seeing a range of possible worlds, decision-makers will be better informed, and intentions based on this knowledge will be more likely to succeed.
