In the 1999 film The Thomas Crown Affair there is a segment during which Catherine Banning, a sassy investigator played by Rene Russo, and her team of security professionals wish to secretly enter the home of a billionaire suspected of art theft. Their target is the eponymous Thomas Crown (played by Pierce Brosnan). During the course of an evening out with this gentleman, Banning concocts a ruse to borrow his overcoat, using this as an opportunity to covertly pass Crown’s house keys to one of her associates.
