Abbreviations

Bio: Short for biography or profile. An outline of a person’s skills, education and experience.

CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapy. A psychological technique. It is based on how we think, how we feel and how we act.

CV: Curriculum Vitae. An outline of a person’s skills, education, references and contact details. It is used in job applications to outline an applicant’s suitability for a position. Also called a resume. In some countries, CV refers to a longer resume for academic positions.

EU: European Union. A political and governmental body that links signatory nations in Europe.

HR: Human resources.

MBTI®: Myers-Briggs Type Inventory®. An evaluation methodology for a person’s personality type.
