Working with metal isn’t difficult, especially aluminum. What it does take is patience. Drilling a hole in a chunk of aluminum isn’t much different than drilling a hole in wood, but it does take a bit longer and requires a bit more care.
There is one thing you simply must have when working with metal that is nonnegotiable: safety glasses. I’m deadly serious about the safety glasses! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard the sound of a chip of metal tap against the glasses I was wearing. Every time I think, ah, good. I’ve not gone blind once again! Don’t fool around with this! Buy the glasses and wear them. They are cheap, and can be found at any hardware store. You can’t make movies if you’re blind.
