Troubleshooting Dolly Problems
First, let’s tackle what every dolly on the planet has at one time or the other: squeaking.
In the “old days” (around 1979!) I used to use WD-40 spray lubricant on the big Fisher dolly wheels when it was used on track. You can still use it, but that makes a big mess that is time consuming to clean up after the shoot. There are better, cleaner ways.
There are two things that are good for taking the squeak out of PVC. The first is baby powder. Just sprinkle it on the squeaky part of the track and run the dolly over it a few times.
For PVC and aluminum track; a spray-on furniture polish works great!
