1. Russians are exceedingly proud of their country’s accomplishments. You should have no trouble finding something in Russia to admire and discuss: art, music, literature (particularly from pre-Soviet days), and major scientific achievements, especially as exemplified in Russia’s space program. Express a desire to visit cultural sites such as Red Square in Moscow or the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, even if you never find the time to actually get there.
