CHAPTER 7Create (and Use!) Your Elevator Speech: The PEEC StatementTM

PEEC™ (pronounced “peace,” as in “peace of mind that this will work every time”) is an acronym that I developed to describe the infamous elevator speech or positioning statement. PEEC stands for Profession, Expertise, Environments, and Call to Action. I'm really proud of the PEEC statement!
PEEC has been rolled out companywide to insurance and financial services organizations allowing advisors (and other producers) on a national basis to utilize the information. In fact, the PEEC statement is part of an entire online course called Networking Fight Club, or simply Fight Club, which is part of Knock Out Networking University. Also, as an adjunct professor at Rutgers University for many years, I'm proud to have shared the PEEC statement (and some of my other networking strategies) with over 800 students as part of a public speaking curriculum. After all, networking is a form of public speaking. PEEC is part of both the midterm and final exams, so students need to know it and use it throughout the semester.
