A1.1 BIOMOLECULES CHEMICAL EQUATIONS
Molecular formulas are widely used in inorganic chemistry but rarely in organic and biological chemistry, since they simply count the number of each sort of atom present in the molecule and tell nothing about the way they are joined together.
Different conventions have been defined in order to code in chemical formulas the type of bonds that are present in the considered molecule and their spatial orientation.
