Chapter 7. Exploiting IPv6 Neighbor Discovery and Router Advertisement
The next-generation IP, namely IPv6, has a protocol similar to Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) for IPv4: Neighbor Discovery (ND). This chapter introduces IPv6 and the Neighbor Discovery and Router Advertisement protocols. It also shows that ND’s basic version has the same security vulnerabilities as ARP. Finally, this chapter presents a more secure version of Neighbor Discovery.
