How Do I...

?DUPLICATE AN ADJUSTMENT LAYER?
Just like you would any other layer: press Command-J (PC: Ctrl-J).
?RESET THE SETTINGS INSIDE AN ADJUSTMENT LAYER’S DIALOG?
To reset your settings when you’re in an adjustment layer’s dialog, press-and-hold the Option (PC: Alt) key and the Cancel button will change to a Reset button.
?PREVIEW THE BEFORE/AFTER EFFECTS OF THE ADJUSTMENT LAYER WHILE IN THE DIALOG?
Turn the Preview checkbox on and off.
?SET MY FOREGROUND/BACKGROUND COLORS TO THEIR DEFAULTS (BLACK AND WHITE) FOR PAINTING WITH THE BRUSH TOOL?
Press the letter D to set your Foreground and Background colors to their defaults (black for the Foreground color and white for the Background color). These may be reversed on an adjustment layer.
