Some common performance appraisal pitfalls are associated with each behavioral type in the Leadership Matrix, so we’d like to offer thoughts on what to watch out for as you write performance appraisals for team members in each box. Once you’ve plotted each team member on the Leadership Matrix, it’s useful to compare their position in the boxes versus previous performance assessments they’ve received. This will help you vet the previous assessments in a new way. You can communicate the results of your Leadership Matrix assessment to them in a context they’ll understand.
