Thriving Teams and Teaming in the Future
A few years back, we conducted an experiment. We were working with an organization that needed to solve a specific business challenge. Within that organization, we put individuals into two different teams to try to solve that problem over a two-day period. Let’s call them Team #1 and Team #2.
Team #1 focused on building a Thriving team dynamic on the first day. That involved specific teaming exercises designed to build trust, create a common operating system, gain alignment on a unifying purpose, and develop a growth mindset. They tackled the problem itself on the second day.
Team #2 dove straight into the problem without any teaming exercises.
