2 Spot dysfunctional group behaviours
You have been working with your team for a month, and it is important that you can quickly spot when the team is high-functioning or not. Bion’s Theory of Groups describes how a work group (team) is functional and effective when it stays focused on the primary task of the group, i.e. what the group has formed to accomplish. The most helpful aspect about understanding and applying this ‘staying on task’ mindset is that it forces you to define what the task is. I would argue that in your first 100 days, your team is only on task when the team is performing activity in service of the First 100 Days Team Plan.
