It is comparatively easy to break somebody physically, but it can be very hard to break them mentally. The brain is the strongest muscle in the body.

The mental side of leadership is therefore of paramount importance, since your team will look to you for guidance and direction when times are tough. The attitude which you convey will transmit itself to your team, be it one of resilience and confidence or uncertainty and panic. Hence the importance of training the mind beforehand, of mimicking the stressful scenarios as much as possible. ‘Plan for the worst, hope for the best’ is indeed one of my mantras.
