A Case Study on the Use of SWOT Analysis
The case study that follows describes how the results obtained from a SWOT analysis, carried out from the perspective of a dean, transformed the College of Engineering and Technology of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. A flagging college that had seen 10 years of enrollment decline and lackluster research productivity was transformed into a college that lead the entire university in research productivity and was recognized by U.S. News and World Report in 2003 as having the largest graduate enrollment in the nation.
