THREE PERSPECTIVES
Developing a deeper understanding of respect and awareness of its importance is the first step to finding a solution to such conflicts. There are three ways in which respect is bestowed: people may give or be given respect as a right, respect based on status, or respect as a commodity. Each person's sense of what respect is often combines these three kinds of respect, so it is important to work on each of them.
