FIVE CHALLENGES

In this article I will outline five challenges that I believe all companies and managers face in attempting to create leadership models for CSR.

Understanding Society's Expectations. A company's first challenge is to determine society's expectations and implied requirements. Perhaps this can be done through a study focused on the expectations that different stakeholders in various parts of the world have regarding the company. Clearly, much more research is needed in this area, using surveys or other methodologies.

No company can fully satisfy every interest group. Some kind of cost-benefit methodology has to be developed to assist in the decision making.
