A result of the changes we have described is that there is less consensus today on how leadership is defined. There are now multiple definitions of leadership as leadership operates in a multitude of ways. Leaders are often harder to spot by their titles, and job descriptions of leaders may point toward a wide range of expectations about what the people in those jobs will actually do and the style they will use to lead.
