Using 360-Degree Feedback Successfully

Organizations use 360-degree feedback in many ways—for instance, to assist in succession planning and the development of high-potential managers; to help employees take charge of their careers; to help in performance appraisal; to change culture; and to change the norms around the giving and receiving of feedback. Because of this variety, there are many factors that influence whether it will be successful. I believe, however, that the likelihood of success can be greatly increased if a few essential principles are followed—regardless of the application.
