STATE OF THE NATION: BUILDING ONE FIRE

Greetings, fellow citizens of the great Cherokee Nation, friends of this nation, members of the Cherokee community, families, and guests. It is my honor to be here with you on this 163rd anniversary of the signing of our Act of Union and Constitution of 1839. This is the fiftieth celebration of this patriotic event. Fifty years ago, W.W. Keeler initiated this celebration as part of the vision of revitalizing the Cherokee Nation.
