Chapter 21. LEADERSHIP RULE NUMBER TWO: YOU GET WHAT YOU MODEL

Expectations are all very well, but it doesn't matter what you think you expect from other people if you aren't visibly expecting it from yourself as well. People will use you as a model, so you need to follow several principles:

  • Live yourself what you expect others to live.

  • Set standards of excellence for yourself.

  • Remember that you can only lead people to where you are, not beyond.

  • Teach people as you model.
