To get more of what you expect and model, it is useful to provide some extrinsic motivation to give the desired conduct a try. To key into the motivational benefits of reward, follow these principles:
Understand the power of reward.
Make the rewards known in advance.
Tailor rewards to each recipient's interests if possible.
Follow through on promised rewards.
Make the rewards public.
