This book is intended to introduce practitioners and students of business to the study of discursive leadership. A discursive approach to leadership has some critical differences from the more traditional or psychological approach to leadership with which most of us are familiar. These differences are important to understand if one is to really benefit from the study of a discursive approach, because it requires developing a different way of looking at reality.

To best understand the two different ways of looking at the world that are foundational to the assumptions of both the discursive and psychological leadership approaches, we will take a detour through two different theories of knowledge.
