THE ART OF DEVELOPING PHYSICAL AND VOCAL PRESENCE
Of all the things you wear, your expression is the most important.
Dr. Paul Ekman found that even when people try to hide their emotions, they cannot. Their true emotions are revealed within 1/125 of a second in the form of micro expressions. Dr. Ekman posits that there are seven universal global emotions: anger, fear, sadness, disgust, surprise, contempt, and happiness. These are revealed through our facial expressions. Learning to become aware of our facial expressions and to read the expressions of others can enhance relationships and build empathy.
