The goal of this book is to help you overcome the nearly 90% analytics failure rate and add value by sharing best practices from those who know how to succeed so you can reach that last mile of analytics traveling from failure to success. This is a path that cannot be traveled alone. No matter how smart you are, how great your skills, success will only happen with collaboration and support from Pleines's minimal viable team. It requires the executive champions who can help identify where that change needs to be, the business process owners who can guide how to change in a way that can be adopted, the analytics team determining what the change needs to be, and the technical team integrating the change into business processes.

Sometimes other stakeholders are also needed, and are always helpful. But without united support, collaboration, and commitment to organizational learning, coupled with the skills to do it well, we will continue to have a far too high failure rate in analytics. This failure rate is a tremendous and painful waste of both resources and opportunities for organizations that strive to better serve society. We can, and must, do better.
