The average person stays with their employer for about four years. For workers between ages 25 and 34, the median tenure is just over three years. This means that at some point in your career, you are likely to be switching employers yourself, even if you’re happy where you are right now. People on your team are also likely to come and go. This is the new reality. Companies no longer offer lifetime employment (if they ever really did) and employees have taken note.
