MORE THAN A METAPHOR
Organisational and business change, along with much leadership theory, draws directly from the language and practices used in navigation. In its simplest form, navigation talks about movement from one place to another and the continual and non-linear decision making that enables this shift. Leadership scholar Yukl (2006) defines leadership as influencing others to understand and agree on what needs to be done and how to do it, facilitating individual and collective efforts towards shared objectives, essentially moving them from one point to another.
