Are leaders born or developed? Obviously, this question has the potential to draw us into the age-old debate on nature versus nurture, which has puzzled some of the greatest philosophical and psychological minds for centuries. I do not wish us to be mired in this debate. There seems to be enough evidence to conclude that there are both natural and socialized influences that contribute to our personal and professional development opportunities. Instead, I want you to consider your individual responsibility for managing both of these factors as you seek to lead with your legacy in mind.
