So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
5. Supply Chain Network Optimization
Before delving into types of technology used for planning in the supply chain, it is important to note that some planning tools are more strategic in nature, while others are more tactical and operational. We will briefly discuss planning levels before moving on to supply chain network optimization tools, which are strategic in nature.
Strategic Planning Level
In general, a strategy is a road map for the entire supply chain process. Strategic supply chain decisions are usually the first step in developing a good process. The supply chain strategy should align with the organization’s overall mission and strategy, especially in terms of cost, responsiveness, differentiation, and quality.
