The Five Lean Principles

Lean is based on five basic principles that in their simplicity are called “The Five Lean Principles”. The principles are key elements of the Lean mindset, so we will explain them individually and give examples from agriculture.

3.1 Identify Value

Only produce what has value for the customer. Value for the customer can be a somewhat unfamiliar concept when talking about internal customers. You may be both a supplier and a customer in the process – and to whom should you pay the most attention?
