What Is Lean Knowledge Management?

The key to lean knowledge management (Lean KM) is determining who your audience is and what knowledge they need to successfully complete their jobs. Lean KM involves gathering and sharing only the pertinent knowledge that helps them do their work safely, effectively, and efficiently. In other words, it’s getting critical knowledge to the folks in your organization who need it the most. It requires filtering and scrubbing out anything that may be considered superfluous or inapplicable to your defined audience. It involves getting crucial information to the crucial people in your organization.
