Adding a data disk to an Azure VM

Nothing is better than getting your hands on some practical implementation after learning about a topic; so, without further ado, let's get started:

  1. Navigate to the VM that we created earlier.
  2. Navigate to Disks, which is under Settings, as shown in the following screenshot:
  1. You will notice that only the OS disk is added; you may wonder where the temporary disk is. The answer is, it is not here, because as I mentioned earlier, it is a part of the VM physical host. In order to see it, you must open the VM and navigate to This PC, as shown in the following screenshot:
